The Fargo Marathon is an annual marathon in Fargo, North Dakota sponsored by Scheels All Sports, which offers a Boston-qualifier Marathon, 4 person marathon relay, half marathon, 10K, 5K and Youth Run.

The first Fargo Marathon was held in 2005 with just over 2,400 participants.  In the years to follow, the race grew to 20,000 by 2010, and in 2014 we had over 24,000!

In 2011 the FARGO ROCKS campaign was launched to provide Bands and Fans... every race... every mile!

By 2012, we had over 50 live bands on the marathon and half marathon routes, and it just continued on through 2015!

2016 marks our 12th year running - and it is going to be the BEST!  Be prepared for some exciting changes, including live bands, festivities and activities for the entire family.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience the Fargo Marathon has a cap of 2,500 participants in the full marathon, 7,500 in the half marathon, and 5,000 in the 10K.  The 5K and Youth Runs do not have caps on them.

Since its inception, Fargo Marathon, Inc. has given over $500,000 to a variety of charitable efforts throughout the region. In addition, since 2012, the Fargo Marathon’s Shoes for Kids program has purchased over 4,000 pairs of Nike shoes and donated them to needy children in the community’s Elementary Schools.

Fargo Marathon, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to the promotion of physical fitness and mental well-being. A portion of the monies raised by this organization are donated back to charities focused on youth related causes.
